I think this set is one of the best TV bargains out there at the moment. The choice is between this 54 incher or this deal at US Appliance (now expired but it will be back - probably even better):

      Panasonic VIERA TC-P50G15 50" 600Hz 1080p THX Plasma HDTV with Blu-ray Player for $1,149

The G15 is a better set but smaller. I think I would go for the quality, but at 54 inches I would have a bigger set than any of my friends - haha!

This is a good price for 54". I paid $100 less for a 50" 720p less than 1 1/2 years ago and that was the cheapest I'd seen at that time.

I paid $1297 at Sam's Club last month (it's now $1497) for the 54" TC-54PS14 which is the lowest in the line of the Panasonic plasmas but I am completely happy with it. I purposely bought it before Sam's Club changed their lifetime return policy on Nov. 1st so when it breaks or gets too old, I am taking it back and getting a refund. Then I will buy at Costco where they give you an additional years warranty for free where Sam's Club makes you pay extra. Sam TV I got was $100 less at Costco with free shipping but didn't have the lifetime return policy.

Remember, 6Ave will not accept TV's back over 32 inches for any reason. So if it arrives with the screen smashed or doesn't work for some reason, you have to deal with the shipper or Panasonic. I would never spend that kind of money with a place that won't accept returns for any reason.

I went with this tv because of the high user ratings. They were right. Looks great. I had been shopping for an upgrade from my 27" CRT for years, and glad I waited for the prices to come down.

There will always be better deals on the other side of the fence, but this is still a good price considering the technology.

Christmas came early this year, Thanks Ben!
