I paid less than this for my monitor! (AR)
I have one ($100 at B&H 6 months ago) and love it. If you edit more than a few photos here & there, you need this. More need on a CRT, less on an LCD, but has helped ensure what I see is what gets printed (at the store or at home). After calibration, this can actively monitor on a user-defined-schedule the ambient light and adjust your screen accordingly. This feature may disabled, as a pro-photog I know does, admonishing that on-the-fly-changes screw him up. New drivers required for Vista owners, which requires registration with Pantone.
