    Decent deal even for someone who already has a jumpstarter if it's more than a few years old, as a replacement battery will run you $25+ depending on the capacity or rarity (adding shipping if not available locally).

    Got mine, thanks Ben! The older model is shown in this pic and I have 2 of them to keep on the boat in case I have starting troubles. The newer model is much nicer and more compact for the same amperage and has a percentage readout for the charge level. That one will stay in the car.

    ^ Hopefully they just shrunk down the plastic casing, 'cuz if it has a smaller battery it has a smaller true CCA capacity regardless of potential creative marketing...

    Creative marketing which is obviously in effect if you think about the fact that a battery less than half the size of the one in your car isn't going to come close to having the same CCA power it does/did, unless it were a significantly different battery chemistry which it isn't. That's not necessarily a ding against the product, make it too big and both expense and weight become an issue.
