    Great case, sturdy. But it's a plastic box. With foam. I made my own sturdy laptop case with extra mattress memory foam, a satchel, and my laptop's original anti-static bag. No atmospheric purge valve, but, hey, I still have $100 in my pocket. Surely if you buy this thing you're also spending the same amount of cash on a backup system (Carbonite, anyone?).

    Pelican cases will survive a nuclear attack. They're awesome, unless you store an item worth *less* than the case itself, then it's retarded.

    I'm looking for the model that comes with gold handcuffs.

    i highly recommend pelican cases. i use them for all my laptops & other expensive gear and they've seriously saved my ass numerous times. you can drop them out of just about anything without fear, or get them knocked over in an airplane aisle, whatever. worth the money if you travel with valuable gear/data.
