You get a DSLR camera that takes AAs and sdcards.. No fooling around with custom batteries and chargers.

I like having one charger for AAs that I can use in my camera, gps and other devices. Not needing a different charger/battery for each device.

sdcards make it easy for transfer and are compatible with many other devices.

Just got a pentax dslr and it takes great pictures, not to mention you can use nearly all of the pentax compatible lenses.. Manual or auto. From past to present.

This is a great camera, but not necessarily a great price for it. Don't be ashamed at the 6 megapixels; this is one of the best sensors on a DSLR... and the features of the camera, like in-body shake reduction, make it a great first DSLR. I've got one.

That said, if you like Pentax cameras, the K2000 (aka Km) is not a lot more than this, and newer.

#1 what is the battery life of AA batteries with this camera?

Sound a bit expensive for a 6.3 megapixel refurbished camera with no lens. I bet you can get something used with a lens.

6MPs??? you'll need a microscope to see your images.

    get a canon.

    Two thumbs up to #8.

Again: this is the best 6MP camera you'll find, with excellent inexpensive lenses available, and *all* of them with image stabilization/shake reduction because it's built in to the camera.

Increasing the number of pixels can bring other problems, because the amount of light striking each decreases as the pixel size decreases, leading to increased noise, etc.
