Not a fan of the deals that say you get X amount off the purchase, but tack on some software you wont use. (In this case, $56 off but Trend Micro antivirus included for $40 which to me is $16 dollars off because I wont use the software).
^ - And that might be the most redeeming part of the bundle, a Celeron chip that overprice by $25, the mobo is below basic and the Eggviews are appalling, the memory is not a $25 item, the PSU is junk, and the case is just the tiniest step up from the box it shows up in. Even for $150 and no software I'd say run away...
^
Again, not every one is looking to build power systems, no matter how hard you comment them to death to do so.
And again, no recommend to something comparable or better in the "same" price range.
With all the percentages off, your $150 non recommend would break down as follows:
Case: $19.50 - ATX Mid Tower USB and audio ports on the top
MB: #35
PSU: $18 - 485W
CPU: $59 - 2.9GHz 65W Dual-Core
Mem: $16.75 - (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel
Total $148.25 Close enough.
Good reviews on the Case, PSU, CPU and Mem and consistent.
"I like the USB and audio ports on the top."
"Ease of installation, ample power, enough connectors, would recommend for a small build or replacement"
"it fulfills all my needs and do not regret my purchase."
"Perfect for a budget gaming and media build"
My problem, A CPU with on board video and a MB with no DVI or HDMI.
Limits your future monitor setups.
If content with VGA budget build, for $150? I think so.
I didn't say anything about build a power system just that this is more worth $150 and with that it appears you concur. A case is a personal thing; some folks don't care as long as it holds the parts.
The thing I see is you say "CPU: $59 - 2.9GHz 65W Dual-Core"; but a G850 Sandy Bridge 2.9GHz LGA 1155 65W Dual-Core is $88. You posted "MB: #35"; I suppose you meant you'd get the motherboard for $35? What one is that, because any new LGA 1155 from Egg are at least $20 more with shipping?
That puts you a $143 look it up, before going all "techno color yawn" over my post.

Why run away if it's worth $150. You just said (look up^) it's worth $150. So why run away.

Wow. You write all this technical stuff but can't seem to do math.
Ok. Let me explain.
The regular price for the whole is $261.94
Now Newegg devalues the whole to $200 -AR$5. That is a 24% decrease.
Not take away the devalued Trend Micro ($30) and the deal would be $230 for the rest of the parts.
Now you devalued the whole to being worth no more than $150. That's a little more than a 34% decrease based on what you think the whole is worth. $230 - 34% = $150 (give or take a few cents)
And then you state... $150.. run away.
$88 - 34% = $59 (give or take a few cents)
you can do the rest of them if you want.

Can I quote you on that. Wait... I just did and I will remember you said that.
Techno color yawn your own post cause you the one that's trippin.
The problem with all that is it was still $50 higher than either wanted.
And, if it was $150 I personally would've not like it simply for the reason I have to deal with getting rid of the case and PSU. I could never trust that HEC PSU.
Your right about, "A CPU with on board video and a MB with no DVI or HDMI." with Intel Craphics 2000 and such CPU/mobo/Ram $150 for seems over priced.
Here's, an AMD A4-3400 Llano 2.7GHz Socket FM1 65W Dual-Core and ASRock A75M-HVS FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) Micro ATX for = $130

That motherboard provides; HDMI, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.0, and UEFI BIOS! Why work on last years technology
