90 day warranty = no way. I don't get why people buy a refurb from an online store without a warranty. You might as well buy it from eBay.
because people buy these refurbs with a 90-day warranty and then sell them on e-bay as new with no warranty for a profit.
#1, I think people buy refurbs w/short warranties from online stores like this because it's cheaper, and maybe they feel lucky or don't mind taking a chance.
Makes sense to me.
Well said, #3.
Although, $1000 is a lot to gamble with when you are talking Refurbed Plasma TV.
Good price for a 42".
A 90-day warranty implies low confidence in the product's lifespan. Components usually fail early if they aren't well made, or wear out, which should take years if the product is well designed.
But usually products 'should' only fail once, and they are sent back to the factory to be fixed. Once the problem has been fixed, they sell it away again for dirt cheap.
The bad thing though, especially for something like this, is there might be a scratch or two from the previous owners, etc...
Ahh screw it, just buy a brand new one and don't be so cheap.
Yeah, I agree #4. It's not like you're buying $20 headphones from eBay (as I just did, lol)...this is $1000.
Then again, it IS from the Phillips Outlet store. Not some mom and pop place.
I think the resolution is a little wack at 1024x768 though.
