I ordered one Saturday but of course I can't offer any opinion on it yet. In Saturday's thread someone suggested buying an extended warranty from a third party, 2 years for like $120 at J&R. I'm probably going to get something like that, I'll feel a lot more comfortable with my purchase. I haven't yet called to see if the ext warranty is valid on refurbed TVs. Anyway I'm hoping for some big-screen HD goodness by this weekend.

The second model Ben listed (which isnt coming up right now) is a great TV. And at that price its beyond a terrific deal. Granted its refurbished but I paid almost 3 times that 2 years ago for a model similar to it. Its still performing very well and holds up well for picture quality even compared to the latest plasmas... and the Ambilight feature, although a novelty, never stops impressing me and anyone who sees the TV. If you have been waiting for a plasma from a name brand company thats close to 1000 its a great consideration.

Darn, I missed out on the Ambilight version (sold out) Crying or Very sad while waiting for my Visa credit card to come (signed up for one so that I can buy the extended warranty for only $88 for 3 years). Well, maybe in the next few months the Ambilight deal will come up again.

People are actually disappointed that they missed out on a Philips refurb deal? What has this world come to?

$999 delivered for a 42" HDTV Plasma is a great deal, except for the fact that it only has a 90 day warranty. So add another $120 for a 3-year full coverage extended warranty (MACK Warranty - TV Only) and yes you've got a heck of a deal. Mine should be arriving in the next few days. Even my wife said it was a good deal (really !!!!).
