Factory-renewed - A factory-renewed product has been out of its original carton and may have cosmetic imperfections. All factory-renewed products have been tested to meet Philips' quality standards. A factory-renewed product carries a 90-day limited warranty from Philips.

Tested to meet Philips quality standards. What quality standards? If they had any everything they sell wouldn't end up refurbished.

Am I the only one that got burned from ordering from this outfit? Ben seems to have confidence in these guys. He is constantly listing bargains from them.

I don't think it's so much a matter of him having confidence in them as it is a matter of the marketing dept. at that outfit being good at forwarding every crap offer to Ben.

      The price seems pretty decent.

Is the risk really as high as everyone says?

What about using a credit card that doubles or triples the warranty?

This is much older phillips technology. The pixel plus 3 is the newer stuff which is occasionally on sale.

1024 x 768??? Is that HDTV? No WAY!! That's weak! With $710?? You must be kidding me. That's expensive! The previous deal for Philips Refurbish 1080P 42" for $910 is a lot better! Higher resolution at least.

What the hell are you talking about? The last deal had it for 599. Most who ordered the larger TV units from Philips outlet had lots of good things to say. Great packaging and my unit could have fooled me, it looked brand spanking new.

Ok smartass. Sorry if I consider paying 680 for a practically brand new unit a really good deal as opposed to paying 1300 for a new one. Can't go wrong with in home warranty as well.

i Bought a 50 over a year ago. just after the year the tv wouldnt turn on.. i called philips and they said there was nothing they could do over a year (so it has a 1 year warranty no matter what the web site says).

i took the tv apart after doin some reading and it was a 3 dollar fuse. switched it and it works great. i would buy again
