The refurb part isn't even the bad part about this deal. The worse part is it's a burp Philips. The refurb part is just another thing on top of that so it's a double whammy. The only thing you should buy from Amsterdam is weed, hookers, and other drug paraphanalia. Not shitty ass TV's. Vizio is a much better name in plasma TV's and they are cheaper.

I own many electronic items purchased from Philips Outlet and have had only one (1) problem - and it happened to be this plasma. Mine was purchased in August of this year ($999 with free shipping). It turned out that the HDMI interface PCBA was intermittent (would not work most of the time). It was at the repair center for 6 weeks when I was contacted by Philips stating that the required part was on backorder until the end of January, so they are sending me a replacement set (with new 90 day warranty). Yea it's been a hassle not having my plasma but for the cost and the great customer service I have received, I would recommend this deal to anyone willing to purchase a refurbished item.

I see so many Philips refurb on here. Bought one of their DVD/VCR combo, which was a piece of crap.

horndoggy11 is wrong. Philips also owns Norelco, Marantz, Soniccare, ...etc.

It's a good company. I still have the last Laserdisc player (which is regarded as reference by video guru Joe Kane) and CD player made from Belgium. Great quality until they start making stuff in China.

Oh, I forgot, horndoggy11 is no Joe Kane.

I cast my vote on a good deal side.

Although I wouldn't buy a refurb from Philips Outlet, myself (after reading all these harsh comments + horror stories), I think it's a good deal. (Especially, if someone got a TV that is working without any problems.)

By the way, Philips is 115 years old company (55 yr older than Sony/LG) with 160K employees world-wide.

horndoggy11, Norelco shaver is good for shaving your ass hairs. Soniccare toothbrush is good for weed wacking. As for Marantz, you cannot afford Marantz.

#25 They also make a lot of medical equipment and lightbulb, which is making them a lot of money. On top of that, they are still collecting loyalty from CD.

I have gotten a refurb LCD TV from phillips before and have no experienced any problems, while a friend of mine has. It really is a chance that you will be taking. It is up to you, just make sure you will be able to return it if anything

I have only heard bad things about Philip Outlet. From reading some of the review, I am making sure I stay far, far away.

I agree with #30. HornDoggy11, are you a friend of Milf_Hunter? I just noticed that you two are one of the high posters on bensbargains.

I did a little research on Vizio after reading HornDoggy's comments, and it does seem like a respectable company. I think it's a sister company of BenQ.

By the way, a ghetto dog like myself can't afford one grand for a tv, yet. Maybe black friday, next year...

I may be the dissenting opinion here, but my Philips works great and still people say they think its better than their plasma. I didnt buy refurb, got the top of the line (at the time) 42 inch ambilight model over a year ago. Three friends have bought the same one - one did end up returning though.

Your plasma might work great, but if you do any external research on reburb items from the phillips outlet, you will see overwhelming bad reviews and horror stories. if you're going to drop a $1000 on a TV, get a new one from a store and save yourself the hassle
