60 hz = no deal. there have been cheaper better branded tvs than this lately.

I got the 120Hz version of this tv from Sam's for $900 back in January. It is a nice tv, but as #2 said there are some much better deals for 60 Hz tvs than this one.

Not only is this really 60hz, but its also 6.5ms response time and a completely different model number. Ben has 42PFL5704D/F7 listed when its actually the 3704D, not the 5704D. Walmart doesnt even sell the 5704D. Nice try ben.

this is so misleading, ben shows 120hz, but the detail and link states 60hz.

Why should I care about 60hz vs. 120hz?

#8, higher the hz, the less blurry is the picture (due to higher refresh rate/hz) in high motion videos.

#9 true but there is more to it than that. As with any video manipulation it introduces artifacts, increases lag that can be a problem in some games, and can create what is referred to as the soap opera effect that makes things look more 3D but kinda artificial looking. Some sources look better with 120 or 240 hz and in other cases people don't like the effect and turn it off. As with upscaling a great deal depends on how well the concept is implemented by each manufacturer. I have a Samsung LN52B750 with 240 hz and I do like it a lot. A nice thing about this HDTV is the amount of control you have over the higher refresh rate video processing with separate controls for blur and dejudder. Most have a single control. On Philips I don't think they pulled out of the US market they just stopped making their own HDTV's and have switched to rebanding various Chinese HDTV's or having them design them for Philips. I have a low opinion of most Philips products..
