Pretty good deal for 120Hz but not sure about Philips reliability.

Wow, 1080p 42 inch for under 700? From what i have seen, Philips has decent reliability with their TVs.

I have a set of 5.1 speakers from Philips that I got at a great discount because they were being discontinued (didn't know at the time). The speakers broke within the warranty period and they are replacing them with a 2.1 system because it is all they have. I know they have 5.1 theater systems, but that is a different department and they cannot use those for replacement.
Check out Target, they have a 42" 1080p TV on sale for around this price.

I have an old Philips 27" TV I bought in 1993 or 94. It was used for many hours daily for over 10 years. It's survived 3 "moves", one that was 1500 miles. It's now my main TV again (another one died) while I look for a new LCD TV. It still has a great picture (for a tv with a picture tube). I would not hesitate to buy another Philips product.

Unfortunately, the Philips of the 90's is not the same as today. From what i understand, Funai is using the Philips name.
