Philips Outlet has the refurbished Philips DVD Player w/ HD Upconversion (DVP5982/37) for $40 + $0 shipping = $40 shipped. This DVD Player can upconvert your DVDs to 1080p and plays DivX files. USB Direct plays photos and music from USB flash drives. [BizRate]

I'm pretty happy with mine, especially for this price, though divx movies get really choppy when there's too much action on the screen. This was never a problem with my TVisto. However, perhaps the USB thumb drive I'm using isn't fast enough.

I ordered one of these and have had no problems whatsoever. It's a nice player. You are limited to 8 characters for the filename in divx mode but there is a firmware hack that fixes that.

You'll find it on this page. Try searching a little next time.

After a little googling, I don't think a firmware hack exists for the 5982 (please, please prove me wrong).
Apperantly there is a hack for the 5960, but it'll disable all controlls except the remote if you stick it on your 5982 (no recovery either).

The mother of all infomation on these players can be found here:

I use a Kingston Data Traveller 100 4GB for $9 after Google checkout. It's notably slower than a DVD-R to load a movie, but it's never skipped while playing. Rewind and FF speeds are much better with a DVD. Flash speed has a lot to do with performance of this player.

Videohelp has it. You just drop the file on a cd and put the cd in the drive.

How does this compare to Samsumg model that Ben has listed for $43 after Google checkout last week?
