#3 Can play DivX from all sources. USB is 1.1 so some scenes play better from DVD.

SDTV = 480p? I do understand why these recorders can't record higher than that to DVD, but why can't it play 1080i or 720p live?

Philips has a version of this with a hard drive. If that one comes down to this price and can record in the native resolution of the program, then I'll bite.

#5, I researched that some yesterday, appears that there are promises of newer chipsets that can provide the native resolutions, but no recorder can support that yet. No word on when these are due out, perhaps some cebit announcements?
