My previous experience with Philips Outlet is terrible. The product came with bubble-sheet as protection, no box. It worked less than one month, and went bad. Just share my bad experience. Hope you guys are luckier with Philips Outlet.

I've ordered a crummy tv from them (which works as manufactured still and came shipped safely) and a refurb $25 dvd player which had an axe dent in it or something which came safely and still works. I've heard bad, but haven't experienced it.

Philips outlet, as some noted, does a terrible job of packing things. My DVD player came in with a dent. However, it works 100% and the dent is on the bottom, so the unit is OK.

Another note -- USB on these units is not very useful unless it's version 0 Anythin below that is way too slow for video and in some cases, even for photos. Ouch.

I bought this exact same unit from Philips outlet about 6 months ago. I have had no problems with it so far. It does not however have a USB port as stated in Ben's description.

I recently bought a Philips hard drive DVD recorder at retail. Now that's the way to go,if you can afford it (around $300).
