Why no HDMI? Ain't this a little obsolete?

Why HDMI? HDMI is for "High Definition" and this player does not up-convert. If you still want HD, you have the component output...

You can also get this one @ Amazon

spend a little extra and get the one with USB Direct support. You won't regret it.

I bought a Philip's Multiformat a while back when I was messing around with DivX and stuff. Frankly I was less than impressed with the actual play back quality. Unless you specifically want to use the various media formats in this manner, get a regular player and watch the other formats on your PC or burn stuff to discs in another format your existing DVD player can handle.
