Got one of these. It was awesome when it was the only elegant way for me to play video off a flash drive on the TV. Now I have a WDTV device for that. The flash drive operation was a little clunky, but for $30 I think it's a pretty good deal for someone who wants to watch video files on TV without a computer.

i got this from costco a few years back for $40. Its a great player then, and still is now. I also have a wdtv, but hate moving it around. But this Philips does the job just as well for divx files. May pickup another for the other TV without a player. Not many great dvd+usb file players out there, but this one does both jobs perfectly.

#4, not the "same crap". The DVD player from your link can play DIVX off of a disc you burn. I had a few DVD players that did that, then this one came out that plays files off a FLASH DRIVE. That's a big upgrade.

I have never used anything for DIVX. Can someone explain the use & the need for playing DIVX files. I just bought one of these last night @ WalMart just interested on what it can do.

Darn! I wouldn't mind having one of these. There's 3rd party firmware available that allows this player to display long file names (I think 40+ characters) for MP3s and videos instead of the default 8.3-like file names.
