I know that the Vizio one will decode almost all sound formats. If you are really looking into one of these i'd recommend the Polk audio one. They seem to have the most crisp sound.

I agree with #2. I've had some rotten luck with Philips products though. Maybe I'm biased. The USB port on a Philips upconverting, all-in-one 2.1 system I have doesn't work quite right with larger drives. Doesn't work at all with really large drives.

Personally, I am a fan of the soundbar (in general). I have a Yamaha YSP-800 and an Energy subwoofer, $850 and $500, respectively. I bought this because I did not want to hook up 5.1 in the bedroom (receiver, speakers, sub, cables, etc.). It's a nice clean look and sounds fantastic in a small to medium size room.

    Please don't compare a $200 system to a $1000+ system. If you want $1M sound, pay $1M.

You are going to get better sound than the built-in speakers of your TV without spending a fortune. The nice thing about this one is that it includes a subwoofer. Believe me when I say that even the most expensive soundbar needs a subwoofer, and not all of them include one. If your price range is $200, try a decent 2-piece system vs a shotty 10-piece system.
