NewEgg.com has the Philips SHN2500 Noise Cancelling Earphones for $10 + $0 shipping = $10 shipped. Yes these are "active" noise cancellation headphones, not simply earplugs that block outside noise (although it appears they do that as well). [Compare]

You should all be glad these sold out before you had a chance to buy one. I had mine for two days before it broke 10 minutes ago. The 3.5mm adapter fits tightly into the computer outlet, but the adapter itself is very small (about the size and shape of a lightbulb that you'd find on a string of christmas lights) and it is tough to remove from whatever outlet you may have the headphonse plugged into. The headphones failed when I accidentally moved away from my computer with the headphones on and the cord stretched at the point where it meets the adapter. The wires probably disconnected internally at this point.

#15 also hit the nail on the head with regard to the dongle. It is obnoxiously large (about 1-1/2 times the size of a large bic lighter) and it's placed halfway down on the cord which does present some placement problems, especially when your computer is under a desk like mine is at work. If i placed the dongle on my desk, it would sometimes slip off the desk taking the earbuds with it (yanking them right out of my ear). speaking of which, the earbuds are terribly uncomfortable and i think i may have dual ear infections. got to go now and get myself checked out.
