BEN: Nobody gives a baconnaise about Philips or the vast amount of Refurbs they are trying to dump on the public. Even if they gave this junk away, I think that most of us would would still not bite. STOP POSTING THIS CRAP!!!!!

Speak for yourself, #1. You can't beat the versatility of Philips DVD players, and the refurb units are a great way to get a nice DVD player for a good price. I'd have to agree about their TVs, though, as that is too much money to risk based on Philips customer service reputation.

Check any of the consumer sites (CC, Best Buy, etc) and Philips upconverting DVD players are some of the highest ranked. I'm ordering one for $30 and free shipping. Hell, that's cheap for a non-upconverting DVD player.

I have jumped on a few refurb'ed Philips products over the past 6 months (two DVD players) and they have worked flawlessly, playing DVD-R's others had problems with. If I didn't just buy a third DVD player off eBay I'd probably pick this guy up. Don't listen to #1's worthless vapor posts.

When I see listings for things I don't want, already have, can't use, whatever, I try to remain calm and remember I'm not the only person who uses this site. Although the world SHOULD revolve around me, it doesn't - nor, I suspect, does it revolve around No. 1.

I guess your life is miserable like the rest of us and keep coming to check for cheap stuff every few hours Smile

#7 - the world *does* revolve around you. Just watch your GPS when you drive around - see?

When Ben starts giving away the free Philips TVs, I call dibs on #1's.

Ah, but No. 9, that's my GPS, not the world. Still, maybe I can convince others you're right. If they buy your argument and do my bidding, I'll owe you.

Just be ready to convert your movies to Divx or some smaller format. Mpeg2 from just a rip is too big to play smoothly. USB 1.1 is slowwwww

    Good luck.

just got mine yesterday. The tv sound does not have alot of "juice" to it. I have to crank the volume up into the 50s to heard whats going on. If anyone has a suggestion please lmk. Its connected via hdmi. The dolby digital sounds great and the picture is quality.
