The bailout continues. Discovery Store has the Planet Earth: Complete Collection on defunct HD-DVD for $30 - $5 code EML2008 + $3 shipping = $28. This release includes all the episodes (4 DVDs) from the original Discovery Channel production. Narrated by Sigourney Weaver. [Info]
Fry's selling the BBC version for $39.99.
I also picked up Troy Director's Cut HD-DVD for $11.99.
got one, though I still wish this was the BBC version... The image should be the same, so I don't think its gonna be much difference.
what's HD-DVD? is that the successor to blu-ray?
its on back order...which could mean its out of stock
still waiting for the blu-ray version to come down in price
The difference is between Sigourney Weaver, who knows how to read a script, and David Attenborough, who lives, eats, and breathes this stuff. I still remember his old TV series "Life on Earth," where he was actually on the scene...
#2 supposedly the image isn't the same. i would look into it
#7 is correct, the HD-DVD version has much better image quality as is the case with all HD-DVDs, real shame Bluray suck-ceeded
#8. HAHA... good one. and i agree.
i really enjoy buying up all of these hd dvd movies for about a third of the price of the blu ray versions. too bad hd dvd lost. i own both and hd dvd is a far more stable and better product.
insert m0f0's insanely unfunny line of:
'further proof that hd-dvd has won the format war'
*smirk*
Go to local Frys store. They have it for $24.99 BBC version.
My friend works at frys and I got their employee discount, and final price came out to be $17.50. Sweet!
Supposedly the BBC Version is in 1080p whilst the other version (Discovery with Sigourney?) is in 1080i
They should bundle this with some Alien movies....
And Ghostbusters... "So...she sleeps above the covers. FOUR FEET above the covers!"
This looks amazing in VHS!
It looks INSANE on Beta Max too!!
