get one if you want a blu-ray player. i swear, PS# has the lamest online gaming experience. If you play online and/or want a media player (and can live with 1080i), get a cheap-o 360.

um... #2 is full of crap.

Tell the players that are playing Killzone 2 and Resistence 2 online that PS3 have a lame online gaming set-up and you're bound to get WW3 from those gamers. While I do agree with his/her statement about how the 360 has better online capabilities, there is one caveat.
If #2 wanted to be accurate in his assessment of PS3 and Xbox 360 online capabilities, #2 needs to put in the fact that for the 360, you have to shell-out an extra 40-50 bucks for Microsoft's full online capabilities for XBL (not to mention and extra $90 for their wireless adapter for the 360).

Don't listen to #2's bull-**** comments.

ooohhh, tough guy! la, don't listen to him!

OK - PS3 online is free. but it also sucks. as do you. Run a cable from your router to the 360 - saves you $90. Do that, and you just got 2 years of XBL free, super genius.

#5..namecalling..so professional..XBOX fanboys are really just kids who barely reached or came out of puberty. enjoy your free 2-year XBL that you still paid $90 for.

#5 doesn't understand math... How is the 2-years of XBL "free" now that you didn't buy an online adapter? You're still paying $90 out of pocket for those 2 years of "wired XBL" instead of $180 "wireless XBL".

You're what the business world calls easy money. You're the type that'd be willing to pay the 3 easy installments of $39.99 instead of paying $100 up front.

haha! Agreed. It's true, as a majority of XBOX fanboys are children as they've really just gotten the cheapest gaming system out of the box from their relatives for Christmas O

Can't beat the bluray player. Even if Microsoft were to transition to an external BluRay player that will still cost another $100. So what's the best bang for your buck... PS3

Just becasue a $hit sandwich is free, doesn't mean you should eat it, does it? You don't have to answer. I think I already know what your answer is.

    And #8, who doesn't understand math? 1 wireless adapter = 2 years of XBL = $90, not $180.

Oh, and I guarantee I've made more than you Sony fanboys combined in the last 5 years. Anyone else want some?

By the way, going back to my original point - Buy this if you need a BluRay. But when you're playing on-line and have to wait 'in line' to play virtual pool (or the lame arcade games) at the virtual bowling alley on PS3 Home, and you find yourself saying "This sucks", think of my comments here today and don't say I didn't warn ya...

LOL, you obviously don't understand math.

    On post #5 you claim

1 wireless adapter = 2 free years of XBL.

Now you contradict yourself in post #11.

    1 wireless adapter = 2 years of XBL = $90

But choosing not to buy a wireless adapter doesn't mean you got 2 free years of XBL. You still pay for their service regardless if you buy a wireless adapter or not.

If you look at what I said, I said $180 for "wireless XBL" which would be...

1 wireless adapter PLUS 2 years of XBL = $180

Actually your new equation you pointed out is exactly what I stated with my "wired XBL" comment.

That sir is why you are an rodeo cowboy. Regardless if you prefer the XBOX 360 or PS3, you are an rodeo cowboy, that and the fact that you have to resort to namecalling and baseless accusations upgrades you from rodeo cowboy to douchebag.

Also, with the PS3 you get lossless audio through the HDMI, which PC users need a $250 sound card to accomplish...

And, instead of buying two years of Live membership AND a wireless adapter, you can just buy a wii and bowl all the time with your real friends.

Or, you can buy an XBOX and send it back every 9 months when it overheats and breaks down.

Or, even better, kill yourself and save yourselft the hassle.

Find out what kind of warranty Sony is offering on this refurb. Also figure in tax. You may be better off spending the extra $50 odd bucks and getting a new 120 GB PS3 for $299 from an online dealer that doesn't charge tax or shipping. My PS3 blu-ray laser went bad just over a year. Wonder how long the lasers are lasting on the older models.

    The arguments are lame.

Have owned all 3 systems. Still have PS3 60GB and the Wii. Got rid of 360 because most of the stuff that was good, was also on my PC and I prefer mouse and keyboard for most of those FPS games. The wii is for my wife and it just seems to sit most of the time.

As for the Ps3 being lame online. Guess it depends on what you want to do. Plenty of the games that make XBOX great online. Are just as good with a similar title with PS3.

And yes HOME is a novelty, but that is the point of it. It is not meant to go toe to toe with Halo. It is a social networking place to hang out and meet new people, and launch into some of the best titles on any console. Try Warhawk...2 years old and it is still lots of fun...Easily equal amount of fun can be had in Warhawk when compared to Halo.

For the now $300 for new consoles...just get a PS3 the only gripe you will have is that your Xbox buddies will want to play too. And now with refurbs around $200, you definately won't have regrets. There is more than enough value to justify that minimal amount. You will have plenty to do and play and the only thing you will need or want to add is games.

BTW, I am a 36 year old gamer with a decent job. So I am a fan, but not a fanboy. Buy what you want, but for those undecided. It is worth it, I paid $600 and I am still happy to be an early adopter. It just keeps getting better.
