What's the latest on the chance of an firmware update enabling PS2 BC? Sony recently received some patents for the emulation of their Emotion Engine, but there's been nothing tangible regarding its implementation into the PS3's FW. Just lots of rumors and a flat denial from Sony that it's ever going to happen....

Funny thing is, most warrantys on new products stipulate that you will receive a refurbished unit if the new one fails.
So, just pretend you bought a new one that was defective, you had to send it back and received this one plus $80 bucks cash.
