Which means it's the slightly older model. BUT... very easy to upgrade the HD (Sony has built-in tools to help you do it, and it's a simple slide-out, slide-in operation).

40gb? the link says "reduced pricing based on purchase of of ps3 @ the $399 MSRP for 80GB". anyone know the difference between the regular sony card and the playstation card? can you still get points on the playstation card towards other sony gear like the regular sony card?

Not a bad deal, especially if looking for a good Bluray player. The PS3 actually has one of the best BluRay players you can get built it. Very tempting deal (since I was skipped on the Amazon $199 deal).

#3 is right. I don't see anything in there mentioning that it is the 80GB edition.

Oh yeah, wait... I signed up last time this deal came around but it was for the "Sony Card". Is this the "Playstation Card"?!? *argh* I've been waiting for the $150 deal to pop back up and it looks like I still can't get it.

And to quote the link, this is for the 80GB PS3, not the 40GB. You have to spend over $400 to get the $150 credit, so it HAS to be the 80GB.

#10 and #11, it's not free BR movies and games. You have to pay for those but you get a $150 back from what they're saying on their website

This is part of their instructions:

Click the "Proceed to checkout" button. At the Pay section of the progress bar, you'll see a box on the lower part of the page that says, "Do you have a gift certificate or promotional claim code?"
    4. Enter your claim code, which you received via e-mail, in the space provided to redeem your promotional code. Then click the continue button and complete the order form.

They never explain how to get the claim code??

Instant approval can equal 30 days! Not everyone can qualify for a Chase Card. If you can, take advantage of it.

#16, no you cannot play PS2 games on the PS3 40 GB console. Sony really did an excellent job on hiding any information it can from its consumers concerning that model. Anyway, here is the wikipedia link that saved up that information:
