What one can you play ps2 games on?
#1, I think PS2 plays PS2 games.
Not this one.
the tax kills the deal. getting it from amazon is about the same price.
the 80GB can play PS2 games. but currently, no one sells that.
The old 60gb plays ps2 too, however again, no retailers stock them anymore. Thanks Sony!

gamestop has a refurbed 80gb
They stopped selling the 80GB Motorstorm bundle as there will be a new bundle coming out that also includes a 80GB PS3 but with Metal Gear Solid 4 and the DualShock 3 controller. They say it should be coming out in June for $499.
It's crazy that anyone would buy a console that will be obsolete in 6 months.
I hate these different types of console...Why oh why? It's like selling a computer 'this has builtin graphics, this has builtin gefore, this has external ati'. Oh wait..bacon's exactly like a computer.
Why play inferior PS2 games? Wouldn't someone who owns PS2 games already own a PS2 console too?
I'm glad I bought one of the backwards compatible consoles a while back. I find that I still play some of my PS2 games and would hate having to hookup my old PS2 each time I wanted to play them.

Why have multiple consoles hooked up to the same TV? I unhooked my PS2 and replaced it with my 60G PS3. I could have sold my PS2 and all of the controllers to help cover the cost of the PS3, but kept the games so I could still play them.
However, I decided to hold on to my PS2 and will be installing it in my truck instead.

#1 60 gig models have both the ps3 chip and the EE(emotions engine) the chip that ps2 are shipped with.
the 20 gig model plays ps2 emulated without the EE, software emulation which in comparison to the hardware EE chip shows some lag and video issues.
