They are offering a $100 statement credit with your first Sony Playstation Card purchase, plus up to an additional $200 credits for spending $3000 over the next six months. Apply for immediate approval and it drops your PS3 price to $300, and $100 after qualifying for the additional $200 credits. #37 - "You're going to spend $20 a month on paper towels anyway.."

I've always wondered that myself.....who spends $20 a month on paper towels?!?!

I guess he has to sell a ton of Sham-Wows to pay for his hookers, bail, and medical bills after getting into a fight with his $1000 hooker. Talk about overpaying!!!

The statement credits aren't SOLELY for the purchase of a PS3, you can buy other stuff on sonystyle and they'll give you the credit. So the way you should be approaching this deal is: you got $300 worth of statement credits, what do you want to spend it on at sonystyle? PS3? TV? PC?

Hmm. Unfortunately I live alone and only spend about $400 a month on my credit card. If I'd done this a month ago I would have been able to put my car insurance payment on it... but I didn't, so I can't.

Guess I'll just wait for the price drop. Razz

If you are worried about not being able to spend $3000 in 6 months, you could pay for your friends' stuff with the credit card and have them pay you back.

Unless you have friends who don't pay you back, or you don't have friends... this probably won't work. OR! use the credit card to buy friends!

regardless, it does sound like a good deal to me-- with or without spending $3000.

eh, im on the fence. i just opened a costco amex card for the 3% cash back and a home depot card for the 10% off. is opening too many CCs going to affect my credit negatively?

#9 As long as you register this VISA card as your payment method for your PayPal account you should be fine with it.

If you were planning on buying, say, an HD television, BR player, home theater, etc. over the next six months, this would be worth considering.

i signed up for this. after i put in my info the window closed and it just said submitted for approval or something. Didn't get an email or anything.

I actually dont want a PS3, but i can use a blueray player. $100 bucks for a bluray player isnt too shabby.

IMO its a pretty good deal because it's about 6.6% credit back - at least for 6 mo. The best CC out there that i know of is only 5% after you jump through hoops (ie: my AMEX qualifies for 5% ONLY after i spend $6,500 a year) You can always cancel this CC afterward 6 months if you are embarrassed the "PLAYSTATION" in large print.

APR is a bit high, but for those of you looking for a bluray or a PS3, and you have your finances under control, this is a great way to get some % back.
