Refurbished.

Also according to manufacturer: ConvertX products are not compatible with Windows Media Center Edition or Windows Vista OS.

Not worth $30 plus shipping.

Software-encoding.

The PX-TV402U PVR has hardware-encoding, but of course, is $130 more.
