WOW.. too bad you couldn't have gotten a 4850 4 months ago for less...
Oh, that's right you could have, if you hadn't been wearing rose colored glasses.
bought this a few weeks ago and put in my cheapo dell vostro 220 that has 300watt PSU. No problems noted, worked as soon as I hooked it up. Very quiet fan, no complaints thus far.
I'll wait for this to be @ $50 w/o rebates before I get in on it. I'm sure the 8cores will be on the market by that time.
er... didn't 8/31 pass by already?
#2 If I was you I rather put that $95 in the saving. That Dell Vostro with 300W PSU is no match for this graphic card. The output voltage from the PSU to the Mainboard will not be stable let say 10.5 DCV instead of 12 DCV, this means the Mainboard will be failed sooner. Dell, HP normally use a very low wattage PSU in their PCs, allow no extra juice for upgrade or add-on. I surprise that they use 300W PSU in that PC, I though it's 250W.
i'd really like one of these, i figure in my shuttle it would work great because it's ee, low power version
Upgrade the Power Supply in that Vostro as long as it's a standard mini tower. power supply.
I added a video card to a Inspiron 530, first thing i did, upgrade the power supply.
"A minimum 400W or greater system power supply (with a minimum 12V current rating of 26A)"

I'd agree with #5 it might be working in non-stress conditions, but if really loading (3D intensive) it for longer periods I'd say the 300W will promote evils. That said some times Dell PSU have a decently strong 12V+ amp output that could curtail you from issues. The one easy thing to do is improve air flow, as keeping mobo components like capacitors and what not cool is paramount.
