Got this a week ago. Pretty cool for the price. I'm technical enough to set up my own servers but this is brain dead simple and doesn't require opening firewall ports. The only issue is that your traffic has to go through Pogo's servers so don't use this for sensitive information.
Hey techsupport...since you're a techie, have you tried setting up a LAMP on one of these old(er) model Pogoplugs (or at least Arch Linux ARM)? I keep toying with the idea, but I don't know if I want to invest the time just to play with it (mostly use Microsoft and am learning ASP.NET MVC 3 and 4 at the moment; don't think I want to learn much more PHP at the moment in the middle of all of the C#).
I understand there's a custom Linux you can run on the Pogo, and it looks interesting, but I have not messed with it. However, as far I can tell, it doesn't interface with the Pogo portal. I already run an always-on XenServer and a WRT-based router so don't really need another embedded server. However, this might be a good choice for those who don't want to foot the electric bill of a full server. I was more interested in the auto-backup and self hosted cloud stuff. Yes, there are ways to home-grow this stuff on your own gear but it takes time and work. For $20, this solution is well worth it and does what I need. BTW, I got the black one. Pink is not my color.
