What he's talking about is using these for something other than movie viewing. You don't need a sub or proper 5 channel setup in a purely music/audio based setup. Subs are meant for Home Theater usage where LFE is very important for film experiences.

Why would we do anything other than movie viewing? Even my can opener is 1080P 3D 120Hz BD capable.
