"Multiple small-diameter driver design delivers wide dispersion, better mid-range, and more detailed bass response."

Ummm, sorry but a smaller driver can only deliver a certain higher frequency of sound (e; the lowest frequency possible is based on the size of the driver). Hence a 6" bass drive cannot physically produce sounds with frequencies lower than what a 12" driver can deliver (assuming equal quality drivers). It isn't possible according to the laws of physics. Yes multiple drivers can reinforce one another to increase output levels but "louder" is not "deeper". These are not some miricle speakers that can rewrite the laws of physics. Sorry Mr. Polk!

Sorry #3, I'll have to disagree with you.
Any size driver can produce any frequency. It's the decibel level that matters.
I've seen 6 inch woofers producing deeper bass than 15 inch ones. It's just that the 6 inch ones don't go very loud, they reach their full potential at much lower loudness levels.
In general, smaller woofers offer more accurate bass. Larger drivers can get louder but are less accurate because of air resistance.
Most Amc theaters don;t have huge woofers- they have dozens of smaller drivers to accomplish the rumble effect of one massive woofer..whilst sounding much more accurate.
That being said, these Polks do not go very deep- simply because they are made that way.
If you were to take a shot at speakers like Definitive's Mythos or Mythos ST Supertowers for example, you'd see how deep the smaller drivers can get- those tiny drivers can hit deeper than an average 18" sub. I've also seen cheaper 6" subs found in JVC HX series of hi-fi systems producing audible outputs below 30Hz.

    Thanks #4!
This seems like a lot of speaker for the money. I haven't heard this model but Polk has a rep of not making nasty sounding speakers, usually pretty neutral with solid cabinets. This should work well with music by itself close to walls, or with movies with a sub.

#5, they are decent Polks for the money, but if your budget allows you can get WAY better speakers for only a few hundred dollars more. There are LOTS of options and things to consider when you increase your budget. However, to start you off you can look at RTi8's (discontinued but you may still find some) or RTi A5's (the newer RTi8's). Check out the seller Polkdirect on Ebay for some great deals.

Hey @6, "a few hundred dollars more" would be more than double the price of these speakers. Of course you could do better for more than double the money. (BTW, I have the M70s and have been pretty happy.)

#7, my point is, typically people who are putting together a system are spending a lot of money anyways. Or at least they are open to spending a little more. Therefore before someone buys these relatively large speakers then perhaps they need to consider what their real wish list is. For example, when I first got into this hobby I jumped onto the first speakers listed here (Polk R50's) and thought they were pretty good. However, I since realized I want more and wish I hadn't spent the money on the R50's since it's very difficult to resell them. A little while ago I picked up a pair of used LSi9 bookshelf speakers for $500 shipped. True that it is a few hundred dollars more and perhaps out of some people's budget, but other people may not care about the difference between the $180 these cost to my speakers considering the immensely improved sound quality that they offer.

It all depends on what a person's objective is. I was only trying to make people consider whether or not they want to spend more.

@8: Good point. You're going to have these for a while, so consider what you really want.
