For the price, this speaker is quite nice. As with any speaker, there is always better. It all depends on what you want. Try searching for reviews on Google: "monitor 70 review"

    http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/polk-audio/floorstanding-speakers/monitor-70/PRD_326715_1594crx.aspx

polkaudio.com has a great forum where people discuss all things audio, beyond Polk brand too. Just mind your manners while you are there. There's tons of threads that talk about these speakers.

Don't use Amazon's reviews. With any review you have to take into account the level of competency of the reviewer, and unfortunately Amazon's reviews tend to me low on the audio grade. So most speakers, even crappy ones, get a "these speakers are awesome" type of review.

Pretty good speaker for the price, but speakers are very subjective.

Without having seen any reviews, I can say that based on my acoustics class back in college, having 4 widely-spaced transducers is a horrible idea, leading to lots of diffraction effects. I would assume the Polk people designed the product this way because it looked interesting. There's a LOT of marketing BS in speaker sales.

To each his own, I guess.

Doesn't matter how it sounds, as long as it follows the formula of #5's acoustics class.

But he fails to realize that this is really an MTM speaker, which is a standard design, and the two bottom drivers are just subwoofers crossed over below a frequency that imaging and diffraction are a concern.

For the price these are probably pretty nice.
