Consumer Reports rated a solar cell-phone charger some time back and concluded the time and difficulty involved in using it made it a poor buy. Don't know how this one stacks up, but if you have to leave your item hooked up to it in direct sun for very long, I'd give it a pass.
Someone make a jacket that has built in solar panels seemlessly hidden in the shoulders and back? Isn't someone working on using kinematic (sp?) / motion to generate electricity for usage like this? I want to keep my $300 phone charged!
