Newegg has the Portal 2 (PC) for $30 with free shipping. Sequel to the original Portal which was named 2007's Game of the Year by over 30 publications worldwide.
I can never understand all of the criticism of Steam. I've been using it for a couple of years noe and have not had a problem. On the contrary, I can delete and restore games at will and all of my saves are stored remotely. The only thing I don't like is the inbility to rename the game's exe to resolve certain crossfire profile issues. Not a huge deal though. I guess some folks just don't have anything better to complain about.
By the way, Portal 2 totally rocks. One of the best games I've played in a long time. WELL worth the $30 IMHO.
Saving money on games is great, but needing to be online sucks.
Think about it... when the day comes that they make an excuse why their servers don't work anymore you're SOL. If you let developers get away with the *little* things, next time they want to get away with a little more, and a little more, and a little more till you DO care because it effects you not just the other guy.
I'm so sick of the "you gotta be online all the time" argument. People. Please. YOU DO NOT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE ONLINE.
If you are not online, up pops a handy little box that says "hey, you're not online. Do you want to a) try again, or b) use offline mode?"
So you click "offline mode" and you play your game. Wow, the inconvenience of this really outweighs the massive amounts of awesome that is Steam.
Second: If you haven't been on Steam in the last, say, 5 years, you have no clue what Steam is. Steam was a pile of poo when it first came out, but then computers were much slower 10 years ago too, right? Steam rocks now. Give it a try, you'll love it.

Ok, WTF is up with that? I am annoyed by popups asking stupid questions when the obvious answer is "hey, when I clicked the link I wanted it to work, not to be asked if by clicking did I REALLY want it to work or not".

Yes it does. Bend over for one thing, bend over for another. Let them keep reaming you because you are used to it.

Steam is an excuse to burden legit customers because someone else is pirating their games. It is never justifiable to make a paying customer do something because someone else did wrong.
What they did, is increase the bullshit factor. That is fine, if they want to lower the game prices enough to compensate but they didn't.
Imagine a time, not so long ago, when you just had the files and clicked to play and it just WORKED. That's not nirvana, it's just normal software.
POS steam acct required to activate
So, this game is pretty good.
wow what a fast price drop. and most games need steam or EA manager.
Steam kicks ass IMHO. This is a great deal, but I need to finish the first Portal game first.
#1 Go back to 2001 from whence you came.

It's sold out
#6 I don't understand either, I have 82 games on my account and I have paid an average of 6 dollars apiece. Steam is great.

Sorry dave_c, couldn't read your post because you burp up your formatting, also because it made no sense and was too long. Try again.
