eBay with Porter-Cable has the refurbished Porter-Cable PC418C-2R 18-Volt NiCd Cordless 4-Piece Combo Kit for $65 with free shipping. Kit includes drill/driver, a circular saw, a reciprocating saw, a flashlight, two NiCad rechargeable batteries, a soft-sided carrying case, and a fast charger.
I'm always hesitant on refurb'd cordless tools because you don't know the state of the batteries, but this seems like a pretty good deal @ $65 and so many positive buyer ratings.
Porter-Cable is now Black and Decker, but better looking than that ugly orange stuff. Reviews on this set new on Amazon are pretty decent, and this is a good price. I just ordered one to replace my Craftsman drill where the replacement battery cost more than I paid for the set. Batteries for the Porter-Cable stuff should be available at Lowes, and I read that this set is upgradeable to Lithium-ion batteries, though I didn't verify that. You would also need to get a new charger for the LI batteries.
^ I didn't say they were all built the same, I said the Porter-Cable was better looking. Dave, If you are trying to get my attention and trying to hit on me by commenting on most of my post, I'm flattered, but not interested.
^ I commented because based only on what you wrote, it could have been implied that it bears on the quality. Personally I don't care if a drill is orange or yellow or whatever color so long as it isn't pink and does the job.
Porter Cable isn't Black and Decker, it is however owned by Black and Decker and a separate line, as is Dewalt, Delta, Stanley, Bostich, and MAC . Porter Cable seems to be their middle of the road brand for power tools now between BD and Dewalt, maybe a good DIY product or cheaper professional. Craftsman is mostly part of the Ryobi/Ridgid line. I just bought a Porter Cable sander and it is pretty good, as good as Dewalt stuff.
NiCad is so outdated.. Lith-ion is the way to go.. but unfortunately, they seems to always only put the NiCad on sale. I've been eyeing the Lith-ion Porter Cable set for a while and they never go on sale.. so ended up getting a Lith-ion Craftsman set on sale instead.. oh well..

Man for $65 if you need this stuff its worth taking the chance on.

^ B&D Branded < Craftsman < Porter Cable < Dewalt
who owns the brand means nothing about the quality, they aren't all built the same
