Good price for a HDCP card if you need one for HD video. Not good for playing newer 3D games.

Started out at the end Aug for $30 -AR $10...

It's a nice price but, this Palit XAE+36500+HD51 3650 catches my eye.
With 512MB DDR2 on 128-bit (Amazon is wrong calling it as 256-Bit) memory interface... with outputs VGA, DVI, and HDMI
Finally a sweet looking radial cooler tops it off, although some might not actually like it as it's might not really be a true single slot or at least by the pictures Amazon, while Egg shows it more as a single. Check it, it might be that picture

It's actually through TechforLess for 31.02 +$5 for shipping... While bing C/B is calling to be 9% back.

Cheap and good for PC upgrade: If you happen own some low-end PCs from PC makers like Dell, Acer, buy this card and put it in that empty PCI Express slot, disable the on-board video from the Bios setup. You will see some 10-15% performent improvement due to free up the memory used by the on-board video and graphics load faster.

#3, the card listed in Ben's Hot Deal can do HDMI with audio using a cheap DVI-to-HDMI adapter (not included, though), and it has built-on S-Video out. S-Video output is still important for a few of us. I haven't upgraded to an LCD TV, yet, and need S-Video to connect to my tube TV.

ok. How does this compare with the EGA 8400 which is $20 AR at Frys this week? Does anyone authoritatively know? Also, I wonder whether either this or the 8400 would bring any noticible speed gain over the EGA PCI express 7200GS I'm presently using.

Thanks in advance. Dave_C- do you know about these? tnx.

#5 -- You need a "proper adapter" to do it through DVI-D, but as it doesn't come with at it an extra cost. The Palit give it to you with out the adapter... even better plug and play. While sure if on S-Video it can't help you right now, so you'll need to source a proper adapter at some point.

"We should also note that BOTH the Radeon HD 3650 and Radeon HD 3450 grapichs cards support audio over HDMI when using the supplied adapter. Both cards HDMI output can support all display resolutions up to 1920x1080 for those that are curious. The integrated HD audio controller has up to 2 channel 48 kHz stereo or multi-channel (5.1) AC3, which enables a plug-and-play cable-less audio solution."

#6 -- Well it depends on what your hoping to get, but digging though the reveiws on the newer 3650 when it came out, I didn't find any sites the pitting them against one another. Confused

As to the Hierarchy chart is the 8400GT there... I don't see it? But it would be 3-4 rungs higher than a 7200GS, while the 3650 is 8 rungs.

    Here it's shown against a 8500GT and 8600GT

Good deal, and you can do crossfire if you have the corresponding IGP. But only with Vista apparently. I got the 512MB version Powercolor from Newegg on a Shellshocker and the rebate came pretty fast.
