Sell thing thing for $25 with 2 free adapters of your choice and you've got a winner. What bozo did the business model for these and determined that people would pay $100 just to get rid of wires?
Yeah, I agree. You have to place your phone/device in a certain spot (the pad) anyway, so what's the big deal with having to plug it in to an adapter that's in that same spot? It's one of those "neat" ideas, but totally not worth what they think it is, especially since you have to buy specific adapters for the devices to receive the charge.
$25 is about right IMO for this if I didn't have to buy separate device adapters or they were built-in from the manufacturer.
So what part of "Includes a universal Powercube with 8 tips to charge hundreds of different devices." do you not understand?
As for just placing it on the pad, yes there are three spots to place it and its easily found as the magnets help guide you to the spot then you get a nice sound when its charging.
1 power plug means you can charge 4 devices (It has a usb port as well) so it does cut down on cables.
This "neat" device is an epic fail until manufactures build the charging coil into whatever device you intend to charge.
Oh, we understand. We know it cuts down on wires. See post #1. But, the neat part is not having to deal with tips. No tips to plug in is the whole selling point of the device and the bozos include tips.
Built in charging coil would be epic win and a real game changer.
What sinister plan do you have for those tips if not plugging them in?
Hasn't anyone noticed that this product gets rid of exactly ZERO wires?
Let's suppose you have 3 gadgets to recharge. Each has one wire from the powercube thing to the gadget recharge port, and one wire from the wall adapter to the product base. 4 wires total.
Now let's suppose you have the 3 original power adapters for your gadgets. Each has one wire, 3 wires for those, then you need a multi-outlet adapter ($2 at any hardware store) to convert your two wall outlets into 3, or else you would have to actually walk over to a different wall outlet.
You're not likely wanting to have to carry around the powercube thing with your device as it adds bulk, instead you'd leave that with the mat, so you are even plugging and unplugging connectors no fewer times.
There IS an answer to your charging needs. Buy devices that use standard USB plugs and then you only need one multi-port USB charger and a few short cables. Total size is smaller, total cost is lower, power efficiency is higher.
Building the charge coil into the devices? Why? If you're going to make it larger to do that you might as well ... [Truncated]
