PrecisionFlash.com has the PQI 4GB 150x Secure Digital Memory Card for $74 shipped. 150x translates to approximately 22.5MB/s read, 15MB/s write. [BizRate]

I have heard that a good percentage of SD devices do not recognize/support anything above 2gb. Verify before you buy.

Most non-computer hardware will have 'issues' with SD's above 2GB. Mainly it will be fine until you try to store a file that breaks the 2GB barrier. At that point it can potentially ruin the contents.

True SD only goes up to 2GB, see Sandisk's site for an explanation.

#2: "see Sandisk's site for an explanation."

I've been looking for a clear explanation of this issue. I could not find what you mention on the Sandisk web site. Could you add detail on it's location?

Would you really want to "put all your eggs in one basket", especially if they're potentially cherished memories like photos?

Does anyone know if Canon's SD500 support this memory card?

You all your eggs in one basket types make me want to wretch!!! Mad

Do you still use 16MB flash media? In which case you could get one precious RAW file per card. Do you carry 1000 cards? Talk about cherished hell!!!

Glad I got that off my chest. Smile

I have canon S2IS and I am using this one with it... So I would guess any camera model in last one year would support 4GB card...

This card is really good.. very fast for any point and shoot camera, very fast writing speed... with S2IS with max resolution, I tried continous shooting with this card... to find how many I can shoot... I was able to shoot 3fps for anout 90 shots and after that I gaveup...

also 74 is very good price for this card, I got mine in Feb/Mar time for about $130..

SD v2.0 (aka SDHC) is required to use SD memory cards larger than 2GB.

Only the newest digicams support SD 2.0 currently

If you go to http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/cameraList.php you can see which cameras use the SDHC cards.

I wonder why the 2GB sells less than $20 in a early time, and 4GB is more than 3x times than that?? Not making much sense to me and I smell higher profit in this..

If your camera can use this card then it is definately worthwhile to get a fast speed (150x) card like this one.

Very simple. Technology needed to invent/manufacture bigger cards is more expensive and cards are also more expensive. i heard 16Gb SD will cost over $1000

#10, I use this with the SD700. It is very fast, works well, but I do have problems transferring more than 100 images or so with the camera. It always seems to time out after a random amount of time. Then I just use a card reader and all is well. I think it is just Canon's software, but either way, it isn't a problem for me.

I did get this for cheaper from Newegg, but I am still waiting for my rebate (about 2 months).
