Newegg has the Pretec i-Disk Rex 100 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive for $33 with free shipping. Measures 2.91" x 0.71" x 0.28" and offers 10X the speed of USB 2.0 flash drives.
^ 40MB/s write and 100MB/s reads are not reliable numbers. If you have a fairly large sequential transfer you might get 30-something MB/s writes but not 100MB/s reads and the numbers go downhill from there. Here's a review for the 16GB version of this with some benchmarks... maybe the 64GB version is faster, or maybe it's slower, it can go either way with USB flash drive capacity increases -
I doubt we will see *affordable* 100MB/s write speed on USB3 flash drives until the industry moves to a different flash technology. Chip density kept going up so they then need a higher GB capacity to have enough dies for that # of parallel lane I/O for that write speed... sort of like how an SSD does it but also with the USB3 overhead involved.
3 pretty good reviews and one PEBKAC.
40MB/s writes? Not bad, especially at this price. I'm still waiting for an affordable 100MB/s+ writespeed drive.
