Update [10/31]: Hi all, thanks for the valuable feedback! The new right sidebar is designed to help you find the best deals faster, especially the less visible ones which are still active. After the new design is rolled out, we will continue to make adjustments based on your feedback.

*One other note*: You can set up keyword alerts in your Deal Alerts Manager and an email will be sent to you when the relevant post appears.
* * *

Exciting news! In the next couple weeks we will be launching the second phase of the Ben's Bargains redesign with a cleaner layout and some new features, including:

  • A weekly Top 10 list of our most active and repped users
  • A recap of the best deals called "Deals You Might've Missed"
  • Enhanced filter functionality to zero in on what you're looking for

Take a sneak peek by clicking on the thumbnail at the top right and let us know what you think!

To celebrate this new design, we'll be giving away some cool prizes in the coming weeks. And as we get into the holiday season, we're as committed as ever to finding the lowest prices and best deals online. So tell all your friends and stay tuned to this page!

Just don't add to much clutter. I like the site because it isn't full of bacon like the other deal sites. To much is not always better.

I think the social sharing buttons should be a bit more pronounced. I've been using this site for years and I never noticed the social sharing features until today. I'm either not very observant (which is highly possible) or it's just not front and center enough.

OK. Big whoop. Doesn't really look any better than what you have now. But please lose the stupid thumbs up and thumbs down crap. If I wanted to act like an eight year old and ask if you like me or not like a certain stupid website; I would serve humanity better by offing myself.

I honestly prefer the old version, the one before the current one. IMHO the new version adds useless bloat that will make it take more time to navigate. But I am looking for the best deals as quickly as possible not some enhanced user experience that wastes my time. Maybe a classic version in addition to the bloated version? Choice is good. YMMV

New version looks like it *might* serve the company better in the short term, but scaring off users with so much clutter could backfire in the long run.

My #1 usability request: Allow me to enter in "alert words" and send me an email whenever there's a deal with those words. g "LCD" or "radar" etc.

This functionality would keep users tied to your site and add value across the board.

the reason i come to bens instead of the other sites is cause I like the layout.

the new design seems to be adding a lot of unimportant stuff to clutter the page more. I like clean, easy to read, well-organized stuff. Please keep the deals as your main focus and leave the extra noise at as much of a minimum as possible.

Not really impressed- I prefer simple and more listing in 1 pages and more deals. Newer design may help Ben get more Advertisement. Not really help reader get deal faster easier.

In order to get away from the coming bloat I googled bargain sites and found there is a lot of competition. Never looked at many of the others before as I was satisfied with bensbargains. Found one that I will give a try.

Bloat seems to be the trend on websites and applications. I used to use google news as my homepage but switched after their last incarnation. I used to use nero and cyberlink power dvd but switched applications to get away from bloat.

Definitely not going to hang around the "new improved" bensbargains since there seems to be others that better meet my personal needs.

Looks like a good time to sample the competition to me as bloat sucks.

I agree with comment about the social sharing buttons ... I'm not a kid and hate that stuff, get rid of it. Thumbs up and down, like dont like ... take your thumbs and put them somewhere else. I miss bensbargains version 1 ... all about listing bargains without all this useless junk. My dad always told me to use the KISS principle ... Keep It Simple and people will keep using it. I have bought many things through this site but may abandon it now that it has become a social site ... no thanks! Now let me really tell you what I think ...

Exactly what #17 said. Forget keeping up with the Jones' and stick with the original winning recipe.

The page does seem a little crowded to me. Veteran users would adjust but it might be too much for new visitors.

It also looks like the deal "Discuss" link is being moved over to the left side of the page more, I wonder if it would now be better placed next to the "Click Here" button so it stays closer to the center of the page.

What I feel everyone would like most, is to have every element on the page with a little "x" in the top right corner so they can hide anything they don't want to see or even better, have it not even load in their browser... then some kind of "reset" link to bring back things they've hidden.

Make it possible to not show (close) the right hand column. Don't want or like that clutter.
