Buy one of these babies and you'll never have to pay for a flight again.
WoW.didn't know these gliders were so cheap. I'll buy one today and try it out when I receive it. I plan to jump off the highest peak here where I live and see how it goes.
Can't wait!
I want the Heavy Metal kite, none of this wussy Jazz crap. Who cares if it's to heavy to fly. It rocks!
ah.. no..! don't buy stunt kites with fiberglass frames (duh), these break (with a tiny cloud of fiberglass dust, very good for the lungs) after a few crashes. Get only carbon frames.

This one looks interesting

The adjustable bridle does sound interesting.
All stunt kite bridles are adjustable. Smaller kites = faster kites (generally). Not an ideal situation for learning to fly a dual line kite ... kind of like learning to drive at Indy. But they are affordable.
Larger kites slow things down so you can do stuff like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUOdT4yUv9Q
cool video
Agreed, #7 re fiberglass frames. CF is the only way to go.
I learned stunt kites with an orange Skynasaur (for those who can remember that far back). and I havent flown in a very long time.. I think its time to pick one up..
Skynasaur ... that goes back a ways. You'll find things have changed a lot since then.
Fiberglass rods take a fair amount of abuse but wrapped carbon tubes that are used in advanced sport kites are lighter and stiffer than fiberglass, a plus in flight.
#6 and #9, are you flying these kites in kitekid's youtube videos? very cool! I had stunt kites but somehow lost them moving to New York and hadn't really flown for a few years. What would you recommend for <$100 (preferably much less) that will satisfy a self-declared-expert such as me?
#10, go for one of Dodd Gross' models. I'd recommend the Dynamite, I have this one myself and it has lasted over 4 years. Great kite for trickability, and it doesn't take a hurricane to put it in the air.
Wow, can't wait to take mine out in this -10 degree weather!
This looks interesting, But I think I would crash it.
Wow sounds like an interesting deal.
#11, where would be a good place to buy these? looked a bit at amazon, ebay - can't find the dynamite. What do people think of the Micron kite http://shop.kiteloft.com/product_info.php?cPath=27_44&products_id=51 ? kitekid, any opinion on what would be a good kite to buy for < $100?
Dynamite hasn't been made for a few years now, shame as it was a good kite. Micron is fast ... the tag line on it is ... like a bumblebee on amphetamines .. which ain't a lot of hype. Fun but blindingly fast.
I like the Prism kites for modest price and decent performance. Might consider the Quantum http://www.gwtw-kites.com/showproduct.asp?ProductName=Quantum. Not that cheap but you gets what you pays for. What ever you decide you should buy from a reputable dealer as accidents do happen and if you have issues you won't be getting much help from discount sellers.
