Check the 3000 out before you buy this. It is much easier on the eyes.

The 3000 is currently unhackable. There are also some concerns because of the new pixelation on the screen.

I didn't even know there was a serial number to these things. I guess the old fat one is 1000

1000/1001 is the fat. 2000 is the slim. 3000 is same size and weight as the 2000 but with an anti-glare screen and built-in mic.

Some of the 2000s (the slim) are unhackable as well. For instance, a lot of the Madden 2009 models appear to be locked down like the newer 3000 models.

The 3000 has a built-in mike and a brighter screen, but as pointed out above, some people are very unhappy with the horizontal lines. Haven't seen one myself so I can't comment as to how noticeable it is.

Very happy with my 2000. Very unhappy with the lack of games that aren't just ports of old games. Then again, I'm not a huge fan of driving games or side-scrollers, which are in abundance. Also, FPS games are too frustrating for me with only one analog input, and a mere nub at that. Would love a CivPSP or the like.

#13 - the new PSP with the new brighter screen has a "feature" of shadows appearing underneath sprites. If you can handle the new "feature" you are good to go, minus the hack-ability at this point in time.

Go with this PSP if you want something a little easier on the eyes and hackable and won't ever need to use a built-in mic,

get a 2000 while you can...especially if you don't want the new screen with its special "feature"

you can put lipstick on a pig but...oh nevermind

This model is supposed to have a ghosting effect with images. Can anyone back that up with a link?
