$300 - aren't there better cameras out there (like $100-$1000 a piece, than this system? Just curious, guess it depends on what you need it for (business, home, pleasure...)

Yes for larger budgets there are cameras out there with higher resolutions up to around 550 tv lines. You can choose to have IR or not, and between CMOS and CCD. You could go all the way to the top and buy a PTZ camera which can pan/tilt/zoom. The next step into our future will be mega and multi-mega pixel cameras which will rely on IP networking and POE giving the customer images that would make our current 1080 HD cry with shame. Enjoy!
