Better off buying Forza 2 or Gran Turismo 5 when that comes out

Forza 2 looks hot, but I've only seen a youtube video so far. Does it compare to GT5? Too bad the GT series aren't cross platform or made for computers, that would be awesome. I might buy a PS3 just for GT5 when it comes out.

Nothing comes close to Gran Turismo but considering how long it take Polyphony Digital to release their games, it's probably worth getting this to hold you over. Especially since Forza 2's physics blow bacon.

Yeah, everyone talks about how great Forza 2 is, but the physics seem off to me. Straight-line breaking techniques, in particular, seem to underperform. For instance, some times turning in the second half of a break seems necessary to get you around a sharp corner -- when it seems like a hard straight break, then off, turn, and accelerate would work better in real life. I was never sure if it was me or the game, but the physics of GT4 feel more true to me. Anyone else?

Turn 10 did a good job on the physics of Forza 2. However, it is not without its cons. For instance, most top 10 times car tunes in Forza all use extremely low spring rates, high rebound rates, and average bump stiffness and get crazy grip on turns. The reality of it is, if that were in Real Life that car would be bottoming out when braking into a turn. Alot of times, the actual systems for ABS/TCS/STM are different to each car when it comes to Real life. In the game, to each drivetrain respectively, settings are the same for all cars to get the same kind of performance.

Also, the physics when it comes to the different propulsion on the car (fwd, rwd, awd) and the different sub categories within Forza use the same settings to each drivetrain respectively. For instance, lets say we had a brand new Mustang and a 240sx, different kind of rear suspension and propulsion but both still RWD. The settings for each one in game, would perform almost exactly the same. In real life, this would not be the case.

So all in all, Forza Motorsports 2 is a great simulator. I happen to like it a bit better then GT, but GT does have its pros and cons.

However, Turn 10 is working on different titles and the next Forza is going to take it to the next level from what I hear.

On a positive note, im looking forward to more racing simulators! I have to try this one out for sure.
