#2, with tax and shipping it's quite a bit more than Amazon. Anyone has used this? Any opinions?
it works wonderfully, quite a space saver in my garage. I bought it from Target for $25, yikes!
I paid $5 for two hooks and just hang the bike up-side-down.
#4, by hanging your bike by it's wheels, be sure not to leave it hanging idle for too long. Over time, the weight of the bike will bend the rims.
These work great have 2 in my garage.
Thanks for your feedback guys, I just ordered two...
For the impatient ones, this was on sale at my local Home Depot for $20 last Sunday. It may be worth the $2 to have it now.
#5, what kind of crack are you smoking? You're saying that the weight of my 18 lb bike will bend the rims while they hold up just fine to 150+ lbs plus pot holes on the road?
Or maybe you were talking about my mountain bike, which is heavier at 30 lbs, but on the trails takes the force of my whole weight (150+ lbs) plus its own over a foot or two vertical drop and survives fine?
#9, I don't know how long it would take, but there is a phenomenon called "creep". An amorphous solid acts as a liquid when it sits for years. Creep can occur in polymers and metals which are considered viscoelastic materials. Ever see a really old glass window? Notice how they are wavey? That's creep.
#10, it might matter if it was left hanging by exact same spot on the wheels for hundreds of years, not within viable bike lifespan. Also, rims are not amorphous.
