Ends 10/31 at 8AM PT. eBay with aSavings has the Ray-Ban RB2132 Wayfarer Sunglasses (black, black rubber or tortoise) for $70 with free shipping. Has a slightly rounded shape, an update to their classic style.
After watching the 60 minutes segment on eyeglasses I now understand why Ray-Ban's are so expensive. Turns out Ray-Ban, Oakley, Lenscrafters, and Pearl Vision, et al are all owned by Luxottica, an Italian company.
I recently bought several pairs of prescription eyeglasses, two with bifocals, from Zenni at an average cost of $35, that included the frames. Zenni is an American company that manufactures in China.
The 60 minutes segment was a filler fluff piece. There are other frame manufacturers, Luxottica does not make the majority of the world's frames for the very reason the show mentioned, excessive price. Go to any eyeglass shop and their frames will be in the minority, luxury section.

That was an interesting segment on 60 Minutes. Consolidation is prevalent across many sectors of manufacturing.
My $10 prescription glasses work and last just as well as the ones I paid $200 for
Mitt likes them and is stocking up for his negotiations with the CCCP.
