Anybody have an idea who's building RCA televisions at this point, and if they're good for anything more than a loss-leader for Walmart?

I have this and its a deal, but they have had this price for sometime now. Its a second TV for the wife, gives her HD and its a nice TV.

Weird thing, though, we have comcast and cannot get the DVR remote to control this TV. You'd think RCA would be a big enough name to have good remote codes, but not on this thing. Got two remotes, which kind of sucks.

i like how they try to imply this is made in Japan with the little girl w/ the sakura umbrealla, and shinto/buddist'ish natural green background. Im sure its made in China and soon that girl will go for a haircut and they will brew Soy Sauce out of her hair for domestic use.

A 60hz refresh rate is not that good. Won't want to watch any sports or fast moving porn on this. Need 120hz atleast.

gotta love marketing... wait #9, you should get the 240hz then!
this is fine if you are not a sports fanatic to notice the flicker/banding (and trust me most people cannot tell the difference unless the two are compared side by side)!

My TV is 60Hz, and I have never had an issue watching sports or fast moving porn.

agree Hz issues seems mute since we all see happy to watch files at 24fps. What is the inverse of that?

Costco has a 46" 1080p for only $100 more (if you are a member)...$700 plus $70 shipping. Sceptre brand, if you can call that a brand.

120hZ will come in handy for 3D games and movies which require it. You may even see a barely perceptible difference with BD but not broadcast HD like sports. You're extremely lucky if it's not HD-Lite.

RCA = you get what you pay for. I'm not dissing it, just be realistic about the price point.
