Above poster is right... about 10 watts. I bought this the day after Christmas, then returned it about 2 weeks ago. Thankfully, Walmart has a return policy of 90 days. I upgraded to a 1000 watt system, and was much happier. On the RCA unit, I had to crank the volume up almost all the way in order to hear the center channel right when watching a movie, and that was after turning up the level on the Center and turning down the levels on the front and rear speakers.

but how big was the room you had it in? would it work well enough in a 15x15 bedroom?

It is unrealistic thinking you will get anything useful out of this $88 piece of crap that has been shown here at least 5 time. Jerod it depends what you are asking, whether it's a big room or small room the sound and bass quality is going to be crappy, but you will still be able to hear it, buying something like this is pretty much equivalent to taking 2 more identical speakers out of your telivision set and putting them behind you. That is the best way I can explain it.

The room I had it in was about 24x15, tops. It would probably work in a bedroom, but only if dialogue pumped through the center channel isn't important to you. With it cranked up, the center was still quiet, and whenever an explosion or music started in a movie or game, it was pretty loud. I'd say pay an extra $100 and get the Philips 1000 Watt system at Walmart. I "upgraded" to that since I'm on a budget, and I'm MUCH happier with that. Plus, the Philips system has an ipod dock, a USB input for watching content on flash drive or something, and a working front audio input for plugging an MP3 player other than ipod in. The RCA has a front input for an MP3 player, but it sounds terrible.

Wow... who would have thought posting about a crappy home theater in a box would lead to a mini-flame war?
