#12 is right. New iphone coming out this June. palm pre, iphone, and nokia n97 coming out this summer i believe. I have iphone 3g 16gb with t-mobile network and so far it's a blast.
Data Plan for iPhone 3G includes unlimited data in the US. Access rich HTML email and desktop-level web browsing, as well as Visual Voicemail to listen to voicemail messages in any order you choose.
Please note: AT&T is Apple's exclusive carrier partner for iPhone in the United States. An eligible data plan for iPhone is required. This data plan covers data usage in the United States and does not cover international data usage and charges. If AT&T determines that you are using an iPhone on your account without an eligible data plan, AT&T reserves the right to add an eligible data plan to your account and bill you the appropriate monthly fee.
Their service, their rules. Don't like it? Go somewhere else. Or don't use the iPhone. That's the choice I made. No phone is worth 30 bucks a month extra to use. Sorry fanboys.
Same deal as its been, nothing new. The $99 refurb for the 8GB has been there for months. I saw quotes like not getting an iPhone b/c you don't like Apple is like not getting a Wii b/c you don't like Nintendo. However, the cell phone market moves much faster than the video game market, so not the best analogy. I just recently got a PS2, connected a hard drive to it and all the good jazz. It took years, but now the technology is good enough where I don't have to dump loads of dollars on the platform, or the games, which you can rent and copy, download, or just buy for next to nothing. With Google jumping into the internet calling market, and companies like S Cellular and Cricket Wireless with unlimited plans for cheap, the other companies will be forced to compete, or take it in the rear. No sense spending money like its 1999, when its 2009 with economic hardships. I'm personally waiting for the next gen of these phones and better and cheaper providers to boot.
So, I got the 16gb 3g (refurbished)one and went to the AT&T store in San Leandro, CA. where the worse of all the AT&T nincompoops work, first they told me I had to active it over the phone, I told them that they instructed me to go into one of their store to active it, so the guy when ahead and activated the phone, not happy to do so because no commission was involved. Before I left the store I tried to make a call and the phone didn't work. I hard workerto the guy and he told me, without trying to make a call himself, that I was SOL because I received the phone 1-1/2 month ago and waited to long to activate it, I told him that if he checked my account online, that is the way they set it when I ordered it (which was weird and know I know why.) He said there was nothing they could do and sent me to the Apple store in Emmeryville, CA. I was so mad at these rodeo cowboy on AT&T that lack knowledge and customer service skills. At Apple the guy plug it in, tried to make it work and because it didn't, told me not to worry because it was still under warranty, he gave me another (refurbished) one that looked like new and transfered my old contact list and made sure that the called and everything else worked. I learned never to buy an expensive item (that will be use a lot) refurbished, not because of it been refurbished, but because of the warranty, 90 days versus 1 year new, the extended warranty is $70, more than the savings for the refurbished phone. NOW I have to admit, the guys at the Apple store in Emeryville, CA totally rock. They were excellent and provided great customer service, specially Efren. Yes ,I do like the Iphone but honestly, as a phone it takes a while to get used to. All the applications available are great, like the Kindle one and many others for free. So to close, I which I would had got the I-Touch instead, which does everything the I-phone does, except the phone part, and it is also thinner.
#34... The iTouch 2gen have everything the iPhone 3g have. Except the Phone,GPS,Camera and Microphone.. About thinner?? No.. Is the same size, I did compare.. $720.00 for the 2 years contract, did'nt work well for me, so I got the iTouch 2gen.. I already own 5 cell phone, Prepaid is the way to go, you save money really..
