Wow, I could almost now afford the monthly bill, as well as the 1 month bill in advance. Thanks AT&T!

The only thing worse than an apple product is a refurbished apple product.

Be sure to add the $30 required data plan each month to your bill.

And a battery you can't easily change yourself...
    and no copy / paste...
and a browser that shows just enough of some fake URL's to make you think they're real ones...

So basically this refurbished iPhone is one that has been handled by someone who feverishly fapped to it after having waited 2 hours at their local Apple Store.

#9 - Just slap your 12-year-old upside the head and give him two tin cans with a piece of string. Seriously: have you tried just saying "NO?"

Refurbished Apple products are usually great! I would have NO fear of buying one direct from Apple. From anyone else, I dunno, I would think that AT&T's product is refurbished by Apple...but I've been wrong before.

Apple products are notorious for their cheapness. It's amazing that a company like Apple can continue to put out their products using cheap materials that have high failure rate, and still charge a premium for it. I guess the brainwashed just don't care.

#9, the iphone is a waste, be it a 12 year old or a 40 year old. Companies will always try to manufacture and market stuff you don't really need.
Tell him he can buy it when he earns his own dollars.

Was on Verizon, needed more of an internet device. Tried the Treo, but Windows Mobile sucked, always crashing, Active Sync didn't work, small screen. Plus, voice plan was $10 more per month, and data plans were at least $30 in addition; cheapest I could get it was about $90 a month for voice and data.

Jumped to the iPhone after first price drop. Now, I can actually use e-mail on my phone. I can check sports scores, do my banking, play games, listen to music, check facebook, look up info on google, do my medical stuff (epocrates, Netter's), tether my phone, youtube, and identify songs I hear on the radio or TV. Can also control my TiVo, etc...

And, I haven't had an apple device that didn't last at least 4 years. My original 2nd generation iPod had its battery wear out after about 3 years, but I did get $50 bucks out of that due to a law suit.

Do any of the ppl who posted above about how terrible apple and the iphone are actually own an iphone?

Nothing can compare to this. The size of the touchscreen, the capabilities of the touchscreen, 16GB hard drive ipod (videos, music), built in GPS, internet anywhere, phone, camera, games...

...your main complaint is no copy and paste...wow gimme a break.

90/mo is expensive, but worth it for those who need a PDA and all its features. If anyone here is a professional, like a doctor, lawyer, banker etc...you cant deny this is the best PDA you can get your hands on.

I want someone w/ this phone who is not poor to make a comment.

I love my iPhone 2G. The only thing I don't like about the 3G is the extra monthly costs so I'll stay put for now, thank you.

i got a refurb last year for 1st gen iphone from att, i cannot complain, and honestly I'm very happy with the iphone. One thing you need to think about, there is not a phone that is perfect, you need to think about the features you need and will use. I used to own a nokia and was very happy with it, but after switching to iphone, is much easier to use, the big screen, easy to get email and all the apps you can get. I use it a lot for video and music (ipod). yes it has some flaws, the battery last me about two days for my normal use, i don't use the wifi it will drain your battery quicker, but keep in mind you are powering a big screen and it really is a mini os x. At the end it is easier to use. i would go for this 3g, but my plan would increase to $10 for data plan and $5 for text, so $15 more. I am fine with edge speed and i was able to use ORB as well on it and watch my recorded media from home. This is ATT taht is holding more people from bying more 3g phones, i think i will wait; like i said i got a refurb from att and had no issues.

#17 I don't know about others that have posted but I owned one and based on my own experiences I do not have a favorable opinion of it if you are truley using it to try to conduct business on a daily basis. My experience broke down like this:

Pros - Cool gadget, able to use it to do other tasks that my old BlackBerry would not do, great design.

Cons - ATT service (expensive, horrible coverage, multiple drops in calls lasting more than 1 minunte). Durability (don't drop this phone accidently the screen will crack (even if it is dropped on a carpeted surface from a table or desk)if the screen survivies expect your logic board will crap out making it impossible to sync). Battery life (as pointed out above it is a great gadget. But if you are on a cross Country flight and actually want to use the phone to watch movies or listen to music bring a charger for the plane or plan on making few if any calls when you get to your destination without immediately recharging.) Keyboard. (Again from a gadget standpoint very cool from a use it for more than a quick text message not so great.) ATT Service plan. (Ridiculously expensive for horrible service. At their prices they should be giving you the phone for free or paying you back via rebate.)

I am using a BlackBErry Storm now and unfortunately can't say that it is that much better than the Apple was in any of the categories above.
